“Today we’re going to play Here a Chick, There a Chick. We need to help find the baby chicks in the nests, so we’re going to lift up the hen token to see if there are chicks or eggs in the nest.”
“Lift up the hen token and put it on another nest that has an egg. Is there a chick in the nest or an egg? Good for you, there is a chick. Take the nest and put it in front of you. Put the chicken on a nest with an egg. Your turn is over.”
“Now it is my turn. I pick up the hen token and move it to a nest with an egg in it. Is there a chick or an egg? It is an egg. My turn is over.”
If you are working on sounds, you can have them say their target sound before picking up a hen.
